Synchronizing thoughts
I knew about some acupressure mats and had enjoyed the effect on the back, but there was something missing. To roll a towel and place under the mat was not good enough. It didn't feel as comfortable and ergonomic as it should. When I came home I told my beloved girlfriend about what I had experience and she told me she actually thought about the same thing when I was away, referring to her dizziness caused by tense neckmuscles, which made it even clearer.
A magic Fakir pillow was born
After a few months of research which contained asking people about their needs, measuring the angle of the neck etc. The Fakirmat with The Fakirpillow was launched in April 2009. It quickly became a popular health device. The Fakirpillow is now sold in health stores all over Scandinavia, with thousands of satisfied users. The Fakirmat is sold together with The Fakirpillow all around the world, and was patented in July 2009.
My name is Linus Knutsson and this is my story on how the idea of The Fakirpillow was born.
It all started an evening in October 2008, which I still remember was very rainy and windy. I was sitting in my calm yogastudio thinking about how I as an Ayurvedic masseur could help my clients even more. Almost every single person I met had a stiff neck and shoulder pain. Many of my clients also had very stressful days and was too stressed to meditate and actually focuse, even after many attempts. And who can afford to go to their massage therapist everyday?
Meditation was the key
Thinking didn't bring me a solution. So to help calm my thoughts for a while, I sat down and meditated. After about 20 minutes or so, I felt this joy in my mind and body. I felt so enlightened in a new way I've never felt before when I have meditated. It was like wanted to smile with my whole body. I could see it in front of my closed eyes...a neckpillow. I gently opened my eyes and knew what the message was all about. An acupressure mat with a neck pillow!!!

Acupressure
According to traditional Chinese medicine we have several meridians and places where the life energy (chi) can be blocked. This can result in low energy and diseases. When these spots are touched (similar to acupuncture) the acupuncture-points will be stimulated and make the chi flow again.
General instructions
Start with 10 minutes on the mat and then increase time with a few minutes every day.
After 2 weeks of use, use the mat for an estimated time of 20-45 minutes. We recommend to start with using the mat on the back or/and neck and then progress to other parts of the body if you like.
Spend the time afterwards for calmer activities so the body recharges as effective as possible. Many people like to use just the mat before going to bed, which
definitely will give you a better nights sleep.

Back pain, insomnia, stressed?
Place the Fakirmat on a bed. Lay down carefully without a shirt on the Fakirmat, so it covers the most parts of the back.
Take a few deep breaths to focuse on the feeling the nails give.
